Dear Noel, I work in Dublin. A fellow at work is onto me to come out and train with his club. I’m afraid they’ll lure me away from my home club. My grand-aunt mentioned that I might contract Stockholm Syndrome? You know anything about that? I’m a half-back, good on the breaking ball. - Clive, Co. Clare
Noel replies – Spot on there by the old dear. Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker. High-profile cases include Brian Talty, Larry Tompkins, Brian Flannery, and Eoghan Harris. Train with sundry other strays in the Phoenix Park a few evenings a week. Listen to Clare FM on the net as often as you can, and meet up with Marty Morrissey about once a month. Join some Banner message boards, and always drive a CE car. Go home for the Willie Clancy every year.
Noel’s a friend of the ordinary man and woman. Reach him on
