Knowledgeable Noel is a man of few words, but what he says, people take seriously. He is sufficiently self-aware to know that he possesses a great wealth of knowledge about the GAA, and as he got a little older, he has finally acted on the promptings of many colleagues in the Association to share this knowledge. At the request of the Irish Examiner, he finally agreed to write a column at the end of 2007. He is also in discussions with a number of publishers about producing his memoirs. You could meet Noel anywhere, perhaps at a club game you’re playing in yourself this evening. He is the original Everywhere Man. If you see him, feel free to approach him. He is not at all aloof, despite his fame and the respect he has rightly gained among GAA people all over the world. He was a good player himself. “ “I never missed a match.
