There’s no way Maurice Deegan was angling for a particular result last Saturday evening, Colm. Or, if he was, he was a very bad man at it, because any Laois man with an ounce of sense would be ten times happier facing Meath than that Wexford team.

Sure, Wexford have been beating Meath now for donkey’s years. They’re way ahead of them.
I remember Wexford from the old days – played against them, in fact – and if I was Liam Kearns, I’d be very nervous. Meath would be a stroll in the park in comparison.
